LEARNING STARTS AT HOME
Schooling has turned upside-down: family is serving the school instead of the school serving the family. Place family back where it belongs - at the center of children’s education.
With St. Benedict's School Community in Dallas, provide your family the support you need when you need it.

YOU ARE HERE
If you are - or are considering - a home or hybrid education...
Congratulations! You’ve made the decision to stand on thousands of years of teaching.
Sometimes, this choice feels isolating because, while you know the answer includes a willingness to be apart, you might just be struggling with the risk of separating your children even when your decisions are made in their best interest.
FOR STUDENTS
Children are always learning from what is around them. The goal is to have the big discussions at home, with you. St. Benedict's focus is to be a natural extension of your existing efforts through activities that ignite a desire to learn and foster curiosity at home.
Sports
Sports & teams give students the ability to test strength of mind and body. Subject to enrollment, students will either have the opportunity to learn and play various sports as a group or form a team with the school community. Either way, we will work with your family to find and support physical activity for your children.
Programs & Trips
Together, we coordinate regular field trips and seasonal pageants so that your children can experience "school life" with you and your surrounding family. From nature museums to Christmas programs, St. Benedict's creates opportunities to explore and showcase the thrill of learning with family and friends.
Specials
Visual Art, Music, Science and History have been called 'specials' for a reason... because learning these subjects begins with fostering curiosity. Subject to enrollment, St. Benedict's crafts a series of programs where the curriculum is episodic, simplified and well communicated with the aim of driving further exploration within the family.
FOR FAMILIES
You are qualified to do this, so let's work on resources that coach you, as parents, and put you in the best position to guide your children. Family-centered education can be challenging. Facing those challenges together eases the burden on parents, reinforces we’re not alone, and puts your children in a dynamic environment to learn at their best.
Individualized Program Development
St. Benedict's is available in a consulting capacity to work with you in refining core subjects, how you teach them, and what resources exist to help you complete the picture. Not sure which phonics/grammar program to use? Let's explore your options. Fractions not making sense? Let's look at alternative ways to teach the subject. Need a tutor for now or the foreseeable future? Let's get that set-up. Our aim is to provide the insight and support your family needs.
Administrative Support
The top of the pile of the administrative burden placed on home-centered education is the transcript. With St. Benedict's, we will work with your family to create solutions using
both standardized options or more custom development reviewing your curriculum
and your child's performance should you need it for state requirements or the future.
A School Community
When we gather together, we create a support system of families that understand the trials and tribulations of what it means to drive education from the family. Together, we are able to share knowledge, socialize and avoid the isolation that comes from making different choices. In the community, we have strength in numbers.
Kids don't need school.
They need the skills
for life-long learning with family at the center.
THE BOTTOM LINE
You drive the teaching. We offer the support. Everyone thrives.
Family-centered education faces three challenges:
-
Are your kids socialized enough?
-
Are your kids getting a strong education?
-
Are you qualified to teach them?
St. Benedict's is designed to address these three questions directly through regular student activities, community discussions on education and what that means in the big picture, and supporting parents with classic techniques to define a successful path.
